The Growth environment of konjac
Konjac is a perennial herb of the herbaceous plant, which has a cultivation and consumption history of nearly two thousand years in China. Konjac has extremely high nutritional , and also has various effects such as lowering blood lipids, nourishing and dispersing toxins, appetizing and laxative, and is a green food. Now China's konjac planting area is large, but it can not planted anywhere, because konjac growth need certain environment.
1. Temperature
Temperature is an important factor to ensure the growth and development of Amorphophallus konjac. It is more suitable to grow in a warm environment, and the optimal temperature should be about 20 degrees . The annual average temperature should also be kept at about 15 ℃. If the temperature is lower than 12 ℃, the growth of konjac roots will be inhibited. The temperature range shall be controlled at about 22-24 ℃ when the tuber expands. In the dormancy period of Amorphophallus konjac, the lowest temperature should not be lower than - 5 ℃, otherwise it is very easy to produce freezing damage. Therefore, the temperature must be kept well during planting to ensure that the temperature is within the appropriate growth range of konjac.
2.Illumination
Although konjac is a tropical organism, it has little demand for light and strong shade tolerance. And it is not conducive to the growth of konjac if it is exposed to direct sunlight. It requires weak light intensity and short time. Therefore, we should pay attention to the control of light and shade when planting. The light intensity of the aboveground part of the konjac plant should not be higher than 2/3 of the sunlight, and the root should grow in dark light. If the light is not suitable, it will have a great impact on the growth of konjac, so we must prevent the sun from shining directly on konjac.
3. Moisture
Konjac requirements for much water , like to grow in a high water content, humus-rich and well-drained soil. Although konjac can be a baking tray tubers in the water stored in the normal emergence of seedlings, but if the soil moisture content is insufficient for the growth of konjac seedlings and tuber expansion is very unfavorable, the soil moisture content should be maintained at about 77% to ensure the normal growth . However, not too wet, too wet will reduce the permeability of the soil, the root and bulb growth will also have an inhibitory effect. So when there is too much moisture, pay attention to drainage to prevent pests and diseases ,that can lead to root rot of the bulbs and reduce the benefits of planting.
4.Soil
Konjac has a strong ability to grow on a variety of soils can grow normally and can be quickly adapted. But artificial cultivation to improve production and quality, or to choose a deep, soft, permeable and well-drained soil, so as to better ensure the growth of konjac. Effectively improve the yield of konjac, enhance quality, and konjac suitable for growth in neutral slightly acidic soil, so we also want to keep the soil pH value of about 7, to promote the growth of konjac.
Because of the harsh conditions for the growth of konjac, so now widely planted in the southwest mountains at an altitude of 1500-2200 meters, especially the Yunnan-Guizhou plateau is the main production area of konjac.
